Structure of the Mac App Store

We are now going to analyze in more detail, the structure of the Mac App Store. By default, when you click on the icon of the application, the first screen that you will be presented will be the Featured section.

In this section you will find the news relating to applications in the store. In the middle section of the window is new and noteworthy in which applications are incorporated recently published on the store but have had great success in terms of the download, there is the section which contains the most requested applications of success that have a high number of downloads and finally there is the category that you prefer by writing applications that collects, according to Apple, are noteworthy because they have some unique and interesting features.

On the right side of the window instead of the general classification of the store found that:

• Top buy: ranking in which there is a list of paid applications that have received the most downloads.
• Top free: charts in which there is a list of free applications that have received the most downloads.
• Top profitable: where is the ranking list of applications that have charged more. In essence, the ranking is created by multiplying the number of downloads for the price of the application examined

The rankings are dynamic charts, as they are updated in real time considering the number of downloads that are in various applications throughout the day. Let's say in the rankings, usually, are the best applications both for the utility system applications (the so-called utilities, such as a text editor) or the games more fun and well made with regard to games category.

We are now going to analyze in more detail the status bar of the Mac App Store, where there are categories of navigation:

The first section that you can reach, is the section standings. Once you click the icon for this section, in the main window will appear, by default, rankings previously seen in the foreground. On the right side of the window, however, is a table containing the names of the categories in which applications are divided. In fact if you try to click on the Games will automatically update the charts showing the user the charts relating to the Games.

In the categories section you can access the list of all categories in which the applications are divided on the Store. The icon that has the task of representing a certain category is related to the application icon that is in first position in the ranking of the top free. If you click on a category, the main window will populate with charts and news relating to the selected category. In essence, the interface is replicated in the section on top but with all classifications, including those relating to the app worthy of note, those preferred by the editors and the most popular app, with data on the category you have selected.

In the section purchased will be shown the list of applications downloaded from the Store. The term has acquired a somewhat 'ambiguous, in fact, fall into the category purchased also free applications. In summary This contains all the applications downloaded by the user fee that is free.

Finally in section updates the list of applications is downloaded and currently installed which was released a new version. In the screenshot you can see the number five in the icon section, this is because, at the time of Screenshots, there were five applications installed on my computer, which was released a new version.
